Job summary

Western Sydney University invites Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants to apply for the Ignite Indigenous Traineeship Program. This 12-month, full-time traineeship offers hands-on business administration experience while undertaking a Certificate III in Business (Administration).

Positions are across Western Sydney University campuses (Parramatta, Campbelltown, Hawkesbury, Kingswood) with travel between campuses; starting February 2027, with HEW level 1 salary plus superannuation.

Qualifications

Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Person.
Year 9 schooling or equivalent.
Interest in general business administration duties.
Commit to enrol and complete Certificate III in Business (Administration) traineeship for 12 months.
Must not have completed any formal education or training resulting in a qualification.

Responsibilities

Complete a Certificate III in Business.
Provide service/administrative support to workplace supervisor and unit.
Maintain records and filing systems.
Use computerised information systems and related technologies.
Prioritise own and other adhoc tasks to meet deadlines.
Work collaboratively with supervisor and colleagues.
Develop professional workplace relations with internal and external stakeholders.
