Job summary

Western Sydney University is offering a 12-month Ignite Indigenous Traineeship Program as a Business Administration Trainee across multiple Western Sydney campuses. Applicants must be Indigenous and undertake on-the-job training with VET studies, including a Certificate III in Business (Administration).

Ten full-time fixed-term positions commence in 2027, with opportunities at Campbelltown, Hawkesbury, Kingswood, Parramatta, and other campuses.

Qualifications

• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Person.
• Have completed a year 9 level of schooling or equivalent.
• Have an interest in general business administration duties.
• Display a commitment to enrol and complete a Certificate III in Business (Administration) traineeship for 12 months.
• Must not have completed any formal education or training resulting in a qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support staff and students by coordinating meetings and events, managing enquiries, maintaining records and preparing documents.
• Provide administrative support to the workplace supervisor and business unit.
• Maintain record keeping and filing systems; use computerised information systems and related technologies.
• Prioritise own and ad hoc tasks to meet deadlines; work collaboratively with the supervisor and colleagues.
• Build and maintain professional workplace relations with internal and external stakeholders.
