Delhi Sweets And Veg Restaurants in Clearview, South Australia, is seeking an experienced Cook and Chef to join the kitchen team on a full-time basis. You will prepare a variety of Indian vegetarian dishes, maintain high standards of taste, quality, and presentation, and work closely with front-of-house staff.

The role requires a relevant Commercial Cookery qualification or equivalent, at least two years in a busy commercial kitchen, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public

Competenze

• A relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least two years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience preparing Indian vegetarian cuisine.
• Knowledge of Indian ingredients, spices, recipes and cooking techniques.
• Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.
• Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.

• Prepare and cook a variety of Indian vegetarian dishes.
• Prepare curries, sauces, gravies, rice dishes, breads, snacks, and sweets.
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
• Measure, mix and prepare ingredients according to recipes.
• Monitor cooking temperatures, preparation methods and presentation standards.
• Ensure meals are prepared consistently within service times.
• Plan and review menu items in consultation with management.
• Assist with food-cost control, stock monitoring and ordering ingredients.
• Store ingredients properly and apply stock-rotation procedures.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
• Keep the kitchen and food preparation areas clean and organized.
• Supervise, guide or train kitchen staff where required.
• Work effectively with other kitchen and front-of-house team members.
• Accommodate customer dietary requirements and special meal requests where reasonably possible.
