Job summary

Carpentaria in Darwin is seeking an Independent Living Coach to join a team delivering disability support aligned with participants’ NDIS goals. You will help clients develop independent living skills, support them in home and community settings, and collaborate with the house team on meals, budgeting, and personal care.

The role requires engagement with participants, families and staff, flexibility for varied shifts, and adherence to safety and record-keeping protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III or above in Individual Support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights, sleepovers and public holidays.
• Sound computer skills.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to people living with a disability, aligned with the participant's NDIS goals.
• Help participants acquire independent living skills and support them to reach their potential at home and in the community.
• Oversee and support meal preparation, food budgeting, grocery shopping, medication administration and personal care with the house team.
• Transport participants to and from recreational activities and appointments.
