Job summary

McKinnon Secondary College is seeking an Education Support Class member to contribute to inclusive education programs for students with disabilities at the Victoria-based campus. The role operates under supervision, with duties including coordination of support staff and assisting teachers in educational programs.

Hours are 8:30am–3:15pm, five days a week, with emphasis on safeguarding student wellbeing and delivering targeted support within the classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with disabilities in a school setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents and students.
• Ability to take direction and work with or without supervision.
• Commitment to promoting a safe and supportive school environment.
• Qualifications up to three years may be required at this level (not RN).

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering education programs to students with disabilities.
• Coordinate education support staff within the work area under supervision.
• Provide basic physical and emotional care for students.
• Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of learning activities.
• Work with parents, teachers and Learning Support team to monitor progress.
