Job summary

Accor’s Hotel Chadstone Melbourne MGallery is seeking a passionate Demi Chef to join the kitchen on a full-time basis, specializing in In-Room Dining. You will prepare and deliver high-quality dishes for in-room guests and collaborate with the wider kitchen team to ensure exceptional service.

Beyond In-Room Dining, you’ll have opportunities to work across other kitchen sections, including our restaurant and events.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a hotel or premium hospitality environment.
• Genuine passion for food and pride in producing quality dishes.
• Good understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation and service standards.
• Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and flexibility to work across kitchen sections.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high-quality In-Room Dining dishes following hotel recipes and presentation standards.
• Own your section, complete mise en place and ensure organised service.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, flavour and presentation for every order.
• Work closely with kitchen team to ensure timely, seamless service.
• Assist across other kitchen sections and outlets as needed, including breakfast and restaurant operations.
• Support Conference & Events and banqueting preparation and service when required.
• Maintain a clean, stocked workstation and manage stock rotation.
