Job summary

Allianz in Darwin, NT seeks a Legal and Technical Lead to oversee common law claims and provide strategic, technical guidance on complex matters. You will coordinate with panel solicitors and escalate decisions within the authority matrix.

You will coach local staff, manage NT portfolios for expeditious resolutions, and help shape sound strategies to finalise claims while preventing escalation where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex legal claims in a heavily regulated industry.
• Customer service experience with strong technical knowledge and CTP experience.
• Ability to make independent and collaborative decisions and own the consequences.
• Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes.
• Interest in leveraging emerging technologies in a digital landscape.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of common law claims and provide technical and strategic advice on complex, high profile and litigated claims.
• Provide specialised support to the TIO MAC business in relation to claims with legal involvement including complex, high profile, litigated NT claims and common law claims.
• Provide instructions to panel solicitors.
• Act as an escalation point within the authority matrix to review and provide guidance on claims management decisions, as required.
• Coach and assist TIO MAC staff in relation to claims with legal involvement including complex, high profile litigated NT claims and common law claims.
• Assist in managing the NT legal and common law portfolios to ensure expeditious resolution of claims, as needed.
• Oversee the performance of the panel solicitors including tracking performance and undertaking reviews as required.
• Contribute to claim reviews as required to ensure that sound strategies are developed to drive positive outcomes, claim finalisation, and prevent escalation, where possible.
