Job summary

Nextt is seeking a compassionate Female Disability Support Worker to provide in-home, person-centred care in East Maitland. The role focuses on complex physical support needs, including personal care, hoist transfers, wound and pressure care, and behavioural support within a supportive team.

The position requires current NDIS Worker Screening, WWCC, First Aid/CPR, NDIS Orientation, a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

• Experience with complex physical support preferred.
• Able to perform personal care, hoist transfers and pressure care following procedures.
• Capable of following care plans and documentation with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including showering, dressing and hygiene.
• Assist with two-person hoist transfers.
• Support repositioning and pressure care procedures.
• Assist with mealtime and hydration needs.
• Administer medications as per procedures and blister packs.
• Provide suprapubic catheter care as trained.
• Recognise and respond to autonomic dysreflexia and monitor blood pressure as required.
• Assist with wound dressing changes per training.
• Follow Behaviour Support Plans and use trauma-informed approaches.
