Job summary

Australian Unity is seeking a dedicated Home Care Assistant to support older Australians (65+) in Inverell and surrounding areas. You’ll perform domestic tasks, personal care, meal preparation, and companionship, enabling independence at home.

Permanent part-time or casual contracts are available, with flexible hours 6 per day between 7am and 7pm, and travel time paid. A current NSW driver's licence and car are required, plus comprehensive induction and training.

Qualifications

• Live in Inverell area and surrounding communities with a valid Australian driver’s licence and own car.
• 3+ months paid experience in an aged care setting.
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours per day, 7am–7pm, Mon–Fri with occasional weekend.
• Willingness to complete paid induction and training.

Responsibilities

• Domestic support: cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
• Personal care: showering, grooming, toileting and mobility support.
• Medication assistance as required.
• Provide social support, transport and companionship to promote independence and wellbeing.
