Cognizant in Melbourne, Australia is seeking an experienced IMS System Programmer to install, maintain, and support our IMS V15 environment. You will own the day-to-day health of the IMS subsystem, from installation and fix maintenance through backup and recovery, and help the business evaluate new IMS capabilities.

Key responsibilities include system programming, scheduled admin tasks, problem diagnosis, and defining storage, CPU, and backup policies.

Competenze

• Strong knowledge of RDBMS concepts.
• Experience with IMS software upgrades.
• Experience with complete system-level backup and recovery.
• Knowledge of IBM IMS utilities (backup, reorganization, recovery, load/unload, pointer checking).
• Creation of databases, tablespaces, tables and indexes.
• Knowledge of IMS/ Db2 commands.
• Security and space management.
• Incident, change, and problem management.
• SQL performance tuning.
• Monitoring DBA housekeeping, and resolving deadlocks and timeouts.
