Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking an experienced z/OS CICS and MQ administrator to join our global infrastructure team in Melbourne. The role focuses on CICS administration, MQ on z/OS, patching, migrations, and production support.

The successful candidate will lead infrastructure services, handle performance tuning, and coordinate maintenance across CICSPlex environments. Strong problem-solving and collaboration with application teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years hands-on experience in CICS and MQ administration on z/OS.
• Proven experience leading infrastructure services, with responsibility for administration, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, performance, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Strong experience in CICS administration, including administration of CICS and associated products.
• Experience with CICS version upgrades and migrations.
• Apply and maintain patches for CICS software and HostBridge.
• Manage CICS ISV product upgrades and maintenance.
• Perform resource definitions in both online and batch modes.
• Build and configure CICS regions.
• Strong knowledge of CICSPlex concepts (mandatory).
• Configure and maintain CICS initialization parameters.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system-related abends, incidents, and technical issues.
• Identify required maintenance and patches and coordinate their installation.
• Manage CICS security administration.
• Perform performance monitoring, analysis, and tuning.
• Configure and maintain CICS intercommunication.
• Provide 24x7 production support as required.
• Assist application teams in diagnosing and resolving CICS-specific issues.

• Operate CICS adapter control functions to initiate and manage connections between MQ and CICS.
• Manage MQ resources, including BSDS, page sets, buffer pools, and logs.
