Job summary

Mercy Health in Heidelberg is seeking a Registered Midwife for the Postnatal Antenatal Ward to deliver safe, evidence-based, woman- and family-centred care during the antenatal and postnatal period.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to manage both low- and high-risk pregnancies and postnatal needs. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Midwife with AHPRA or in process of obtaining AHPRA Registration.
• Minimum one year experience as a Registered Midwife.
• Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
• A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
• Ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, while promoting positive health outcomes and supporting informed decision-making.
• Manage a dynamic workload involving women with both low and high-risk pregnancies and postnatal needs.
• Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health and support staff to ensure timely escalation of care, effective communication, and seamless coordination of services.
