Job summary

The NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Learning Support Officer for Callaghan College Wallsend Campus on a full-time, ongoing basis. The role focuses on supporting students with diverse learning needs under teacher direction to enhance educational outcomes.

Responsibilities include student welfare, health and wellbeing activities, and additional duties across streams such as pre-school, vision/hearing support, and bilingual settings, aligned with campus needs.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check Clearance.
• Completion of mandatory training required by the Department of Education and a willingness to undertake first aid training.
• Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.
• Health support training to be provided based on student needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with identified diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under the supervision of a teacher.
• Contribute to student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
• Provide specific support across streams/settings: pre-school, vision support, hearing support, and bilingual settings.
• Perform general duties to support the achievement of educational outcomes as directed by teaching staff.
