Job summary

DFP Recruitment is seeking an APS6 Support Needs Assessor for a Federal Government opportunity across multiple NSW locations, including Gosford, Port Macquarie and Tamworth. The role requires Australian citizenship, a recognised allied health qualification and experience with person-centred assessments.

This full-time position offers hybrid flexibility and an ASAP start with a 31 December 2026 end date. You will gather and analyse information, interpret evidence and prepare defensible assessment

Qualifications

• Recognised tertiary qualification in allied health or relevant health discipline.
• Experience conducting support needs assessments or other person-centred assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct support needs assessments through guided conversations and information gathering.
• Analyse and synthesise participant information and external evidence to support evidence-based outcomes.
• Prepare clear, accurate and defensible written assessment reports.
• Apply policy, legislation and procedures using sound judgement and ethical practice.
• Communicate assessment processes and outcomes clearly across virtual and face-to-face settings.
• Escalate complex or high-risk matters appropriately and contribute to continuous service improvement.
• Collaborate across teams to support coordinated and inclusive participant outcomes. Maintain accurate records using digital systems while ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
