Job summary

Gratifying Care Pty Ltd, a growing provider of aged care and community support services, seeks an experienced Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations in Victoria.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will handle general accounting, payroll, GST, BAS, budgeting and financial reporting, with opportunities to improve processes as the business grows. This is a hands-on, full-time role with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Bookkeeping.
• Solid knowledge of Australian PAYG, STP, superannuation, GST and BAS, IAS, TPAR, and payroll tax requirements.
• Experience in preparing and assisting with year-end reconciliations, statutory reporting and compliance reporting.
• Experience in NDIS, aged care, home care, disability or community services will be highly regarded.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day accounting functions of the business.
• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments as required.
• Perform regular bank, credit card, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Monitor income, expenditure, cash flow and financial performance.
• Assist management with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Identify financial discrepancies, investigate variances and recommend corrective action.
• Maintain appropriate financial documentation and audit trails.
• Assist with year-end financial reporting and provide information to the external accountant and auditors when required.
• Manage accounts payable, including processing and review of supplier invoices and ensuring timely payments.
• Manage accounts receivable, including client invoicing processing and monitoring outstanding receivables.
• Process fortnightly payroll for approximately 85 employees, and ensure payroll is processed accurately and within established deadlines.
• Process PAYG withholding, STP reporting requirements and superannuation.
• Liaise with HR and management regarding new employees, terminations, leave and changes to employee conditions.
