Job summary

Navorina Nursing Home in Deniliquin, NSW, is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations and administrative accounting tasks within a small team, while building their career in the aged care sector.

You will work closely with the CEO and leadership, assisting with invoices, payments, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, resident billing, and monthly reporting, gaining exposure to regulatory reporting like QFR and other statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in aged care or not-for-profit.
• Pursuing or holding a degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of core accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget support.
• Proficiency in accounting/payroll software with strong Excel and Word skills.
• High attention to detail, organisation and ability to communicate financial information clearly.

• Reconciling petty cash and maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with budget preparation, forecasting and variance analysis
• Supporting cash flow and profitability reporting
• Supporting resident billing, RAD statements, admissions, discharges and refunds
• Provide backup support for payroll processing
• Assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
• Contributing to regulatory reporting requirements, including QFR and Stewart Brown reporting
• Supporting internal and external audit processes
• Working collaboratively with operational, clinical and administrative teams
• Participating in continuous improvement and risk management initiatives

About the role

About you

• Demonstrated experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within an aged care or not-for-profit environment.
• Qualifications (or actively working towards a degree/diploma) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of core accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget support.
• Proficiency in accounting/payroll software with strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Proven attention to detail, accuracy, strong organisational skills, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a small team.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence.
• Familiarity or willingness to learn aged care funding arrangements (AN-ACC), RAD/DAP/MTCF processes, Stewart Brown, and QFR reporting.
