Job summary

Rare Cancers Australia Ltd in Sydney is seeking an Advocacy and Campaign Lead to deliver advocacy strategies, campaigns and community mobilisation to drive system change for Australians affected by rare cancers.

Reporting to the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, you will build relationships across government, healthcare, research and the not-for-profit sector, amplify patient voices and shape policy debates to improve access to care.

Qualifications

• Experience in advocacy, campaigns, stakeholder engagement, government relations or a related field.
• Tertiary qualifications in public policy, public affairs, journalism, communications or health, or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional written communication and the ability to turn policy into compelling messages.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver advocacy strategies and campaigns aligned with RCA priorities to influence policy and raise awareness.
• Create compelling advocacy content and lead media engagement, including releases and opinion pieces.
• Build strategic relationships with government, healthcare, research, industry, patient groups and media.
• Champion patient and carer voices, elevating lived experiences ethically and authentically.
• Provide advocacy briefings to senior leaders and align advocacy with patient needs across RCA.
