Responsibilities

• Assess challenges in pre-action protocol correspondence or judicial review under immigration law.
• Respond to pre-action protocol correspondence and coordinate action to remedy errors.
• Escalate policy or procedural issues from pre-action protocol, judicial review and damages claims.
• Liaise with government lawyers to agree course of action in managing litigation, including defending grounds of defence.
• Support government lawyers and counsel at hearings, including securing witness statements when needed.
• Make decisions to settle litigation and secure financial authority where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate records of activities across IT systems.
