Job summary

NSW Health in Lismore Base Hospital seeks a JMO Supervised Practice year for 2027. The role provides experience delivering quality medical care within a complex setting, under supervision of senior practitioners and a multidisciplinary team.

Rotations across Emergency Medicine, General and Orthopaedic Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Paediatrics and other services are available. Teaching, protected time and UCRH collaborations support early career development.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate category.
• Must not hold an intern position and must demonstrate independent clinical judgement within supervision.
• Strong communication with patients, families and health care teams; participation in continuing professional development.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours rosters and move between services as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate admission, management and discharge planning for patients in the unit.
• Conduct day-to-day assessment and management of patients; communicate with patients and families.
• Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team and arrange appropriate consultations.
