Job summary

Downer Professional Services in Canberra is seeking an ILS Lead to provide specialist Integrated Logistics Support expertise across defence programmes. You will coordinate acquisition activities, lead ILS workstreams, and review documentation to support informed decision-making. Security clearance (AGSVA) is required for this role.

You will work with Prime Contractors and Defence partners to ensure compliant, timely delivery and robust risk management across complex projects.

• 5+ years of experience in ILS and related defence environments.
• Familiarity with ASDEFCON suite and Defence procurement processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret complex contractual and technical requirements and provide actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage ILS-related aspects of acquisition activities across JP9101PH1.
• Lead or contribute to ILS working groups and system reviews for deliverables.
• Review and provide feedback on ILS documentation including ILSP and plans.
• Assist in developing SHFC ILS documentation and SOPs per ILSM SHFC L3 directions.
• Provide technical and logistics advice to support planning, risk management and informed decisions.

Join our Downer Professional Servicesteam and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.

Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for an ILS Lead in Canberra to provide specialist ILS expertise to a high frequency communication project in Defence.

What You'll Do

This role offers broad exposure across ILS acquisition activities, stakeholder engagement and Defence project delivery. Key responsibilities include:

• Support and manage ILS-related aspects of JP9101PH1 acquisition activities, including coordination with the Prime Contractor.
• Lead or contribute to ILS working groups and mandated system reviews for acquisition deliverables.
• Review, assess and provide clear feedback on ILS acquisition documentation, including the ILSP and associated plans.
• Assist in developing and maintaining SHFC ILS documentation and standard operating procedures, as directed by the ILSM SHFC L3.
• Provide technical and logistics advice to support acquisition planning, risk management and informed decision-making.

What You'll Bring

• All other tasks as directed by the ILS Manager or Deputy ILS Manager.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in ILS, preferably in acquisition and sustainment environments.
• Familiarity with ASDEFCON suite and Defence procurement processes.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to interpret complex contractual and technical requirements and provide actionable recommendations.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain an AGSVA Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance withInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
