Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring for data center roles focused on network cabling and infrastructure. You will participate in installation, testing, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber cabling, while maintaining safety and security standards in high-demand data centers.

You'll manage labeling, inventory, and coordinate with program managers to meet deadlines. Travel within the work area and occasional beyond-area travel may be required, with opportunities for mentoring and career

Qualifications

• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
• 2+ years of Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, or Data Center Operations experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma, or experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• 1+ years of computer networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to security and safety best practices in the Data Center.
• Installation and testing of copper and Fiber Optic cabling.
• Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
• Creating/attaching labels and barcodes.
• Regularly lift 15kg or move objects into position.
• Regularly work at heights and from ladders/EWP
• Managing inventory of related materials.
• Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
• Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.
• Ability to travel within geographical work area is required, some travel outside traditional work area may be requested.
• Understanding of cabling procedure.

A day in the life

A normal day involve working inside a Data Center installing network equipment and cables, managing vendors, and negotiating deadlines with program managers. You will be responsible for running multiple projects at the same time

As part of the journey, you will have mentoring, coaching and career development opportunities as you work closely with AWS Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth roll out of new designs and products.
