Job summary

St George Hospital in Sydney's SESLHD is seeking Registered Nurses for Intensive Care Services on permanent part-time and full-time contracts. You will provide high-quality nursing care in a critical care setting, align with SESLHD policies, and promote NSW Health CORE values while working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

The role requires current RN registration with the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Board, strong communication, and recent critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
• Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these principles.
• Demonstrated recent post registration critical care experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high quality nursing care to patients/clients of the St George Hospital and Health service in line with SESLHD policies and standards.
• Promote NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment in daily practice.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and patient-centred care environment in the Intensive Care Services.
