Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) invites applications for a Registered Nurse in Intensive Care Services at St George Hospital. The role delivers high quality nursing care aligned with SESLHD policies and NSW Health CORE values and supports compassionate care across the patient and family journey.

Successful applicants will hold current RN registration, demonstrate excellent communication, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy ICU.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the RN in applying these principles.
• Demonstrated recent post registration critical care experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high quality nursing care to patients at St George Hospital.
• Adhere to SESLHD and hospital policies, procedures and standards.
• Promote NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
• Provide care in an intensive care setting and support family centred care.
