Western Sydney Local Health District – Blacktown NSW is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality critical care in a dynamic hospital environment. You will join a multidisciplinary team committed to outstanding patient outcomes and provide compassionate, evidence-informed nursing care.

As an ICU nurse, you’ll mentor colleagues, supervise students and support discharge planning while maintaining clinical excellence and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Recent clinical experience in critical care nursing in an acute care facility.
• Evidence-based practice and critical thinking applied to patient care.
• Ability to lead, supervise, delegate and negotiate to deliver quality nursing care.
• Effective clinical communication with a diverse range of people.

Responsibilities

• Delivering safe, effective and person-centred nursing care that respects each patient’s individual needs, preferences and cultural background.
• Recognising and responding promptly to changes in patient condition, prioritising clinical needs and adapting care accordingly.
• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, advocate for patients and facilitate appropriate referrals and discharge planning.
• Providing clinical guidance, supervision and mentoring to Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and students, ensuring delegation is appropriate to individual competence and scope of practice.
• Managing clinical resources effectively while maintaining professional standards, ethical practice and a strong focus on patient safety and quality care.
