Job summary

Australian Department of Defence – Canberra ACT is seeking an EL1 ICT Engineer (Test, Evaluation & Release) to lead testing policy, plans and strategies across Defence programs. The role demands strong leadership of ICT testers and collaboration with project teams to ensure rigorous test governance.

You will contribute to a growing branch, mentor team members, and work with stakeholders to align testing activities with defence objectives and warfighter readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a multi-skilled testing team.
• Analytical skills and judgement in interpreting policies and applying practices within the Test realm.
• Experience in providing test assurance and test governance.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders to understand their expectations, requirements and concerns.
• Experience in or knowledge of the development of the Capability Life Cycle testing process.
• Experience in or knowledge of supporting programs/projects to meet their test responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute testing policies, plans and strategies to ensure Programs and Projects align to Defence’s test objectives.
• Lead or contribute to governance and assurance activities within the Testing domain.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to ICT testers in a matrixed delivery environment.
• Collaborate with project teams across key Digital domains in Enterprise Systems Division.
