Job summary

CSIRO's Information Management and Technology (IMT) team seeks a Project Manager to drive strategic digital and technology initiatives for world-class science. You will lead multiple projects across Data & Digital, Information, Technology & Platforms, and AI Roadmaps, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes.

The opportunity

As a Project Manager within CSIRO’s Information Management and Technology (IMT) team, you will help deliver strategic digital and technology initiatives that enable world-class science. IMT supports the organisation’s technology environment, from enterprise ICT and high-performance computing to digitally enabled research programs.

Working across key initiatives within CSIRO’s Data & Digital, Information, Technology & Platforms, and AI Roadmaps, you will lead multiple projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and partner with stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes.

High-level duties include:

• Manage multiple, and complex, projects using methodologies appropriate to the project and the context (i.e. agile, kanban etc)
• Deliver projects to scope, budget, schedule, and stakeholder expectation and with appropriately mitigated risks
• Support and enable team members to do their best work
• Identify and manage project risks and issues and escalates any that may impact deliveryFacilitate creation, review and stakeholder acceptance of project management products and deliverables
• Lead change management associated with the delivery of projects

Location and office arrangements:

Open to CSIRO site locations in Australian major cities.

Salary:

AU$118,102 – AU$127,808 per annum, plus 15.4% superannuation

As the successful candidate, you will bring:

Essential Criteria

• Demonstrated experience with a minimum of 12 months in project management within the ICT sector including management of multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated success in delivering projects to scope, budget, schedule, and stakeholder expectation
• Displays effective communication skills with all staff, clients, and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement of CSIRO’s productivity and reputation.
• Experience working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary, often regionally dispersed team and business unit to carry out tasks in support of CSIRO objectives.
• Proven ability in applying sound judgement in relation to resolving project delivery issues

Desirable

• Experience or formal training in project management associated with the delivery of major/complex projects; and
• Effective transition of new products or services into the business-as-usual operational environment.
