Job summary

SA Health invites applications for an Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Fellow/Registrar in the Southern Adelaide region. The role blends clinical care from specialist clinics to a consumer hotline with dedicated research time and pathway from concept to publication.

The position supervises outpatient and inpatient care, contributes to education, and supports unit operations within the Department of Gastroenterology at Bedford Park.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent with General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a medical officer.
• Registration in Basic (or Advanced) Physician Training, or Completion of the Physician Training Programme of the RACP.
• Experience in gastroenterology and hepatology is desirable.
• Research experience in IBD is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Assist in outpatient and inpatient care of IBD patients at Flinders Medical Centre and other sites in the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.
• Participate in education and training of junior medical staff and undergraduate teaching when required.
• Contribute to the effective operation of the unit and day-to-day management of IBD patients via the hotline with nursing staff.
