Job summary

Queensland Health’s Redland Hospital is seeking a Staff Specialist in Endoscopy and Gastroenterology to deliver evidence-based care for patients with inflammatory bowel disease and general GI conditions across Redland Hospital and Bayside Health Service.

You will perform upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy, provide clinical leadership to the IBD team, participate in quality audits, clinical governance and education, and support the development of the IBD service with junior medical staff.

Qualifications

• Hold MBBS or equivalent and FRACP or equivalent acceptable to RACP.
• Be eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA as a gastroenterologist.
• Accredited or eligible for accreditation in GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
• Experience managing IBD, including advanced therapies such as biologics and small molecules.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist gastroenterology care for inpatients and outpatients across Redland Hospital and Metro South Health facilities.
• Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary IBD team.
• Perform upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy with adherence to safety and quality indicators.
• Lead service development, quality improvement, audits, education and research; support junior medical staff.
