Job summary

Macquarie Group's Identity and Access Management Team is hiring an IAM Engineer to support and evolve platforms underpinning identity, authentication and API gateway services across our technology environment. You'll work in an agile team, build and improve systems, automation and tooling to keep services secure and available as part of the software delivery lifecycle.

You'll collaborate with experienced engineers, participate in code reviews, contribute to observability and on-call practices,

Qualifications

• 2-3 years hands-on IAM experience or similar
• Familiarity with Git, pull request workflows and approvals
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and willingness to learn pipeline tooling
• Some scripting experience in Python and/or Bash
• Interest in cloud infrastructure and IaC concepts; no deep prior experience required
• Curiosity about observability tooling (logs, metrics, alerts)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging instincts; comfortable asking questions
• Willingness to learn and adopt AI-assisted development workflows as a primary way of working

Responsibilities

• Contribute to building, maintaining and improving IAM platforms and API gateway services
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes across environments
• Participate in code reviews and on-call rotations to ensure high availability
• Assist troubleshooting, monitoring improvements and observability initiatives
