Job summary

SLR Consulting Australia seeks a Hygiene Technician to join our Perth Office on a full-time basis. You will work within our Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials team, collaborating with industry leaders across Australia to deliver high-quality field assessments and data.

The role offers ongoing learning and development, opportunities to travel to regional sites, and a supportive, collaborative environment that values safety and precise reporting.

Qualifications

  • Experience in OHS/Hazmat, with report writing and data analysis.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and adapt to flexible work arrangements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Valid Australian driver’s licence; C-class advantageous.
  • Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor occupational health exposure to hazards such as dust, diesel particulates, welding fumes, noise, asbestos and chemicals.
  • Develop reliable sampling plans.
  • Conduct field task observations, review sample data and input into the company database.
  • Provide accurate data for technical reports and proposals to support SLR projects.
  • Perform respirator and hearing protection fit testing.
  • Travel to regional and remote sites to conduct fieldwork.

Our Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials (OHHM) team has an opportunity for a Hygiene Technician to join our Perth Office, on a full-time basis. In this role, you will work alongside industry leaders, within both the local team and throughout wider Australia. We are a high-performing, friendly and collaborative group, looking to connect with candidates with some experience and an interest to progress and benefit from our expertise and support with ongoing learning and development.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor occupational health exposure for hazards including dust, diesel particulate matter, welding fumes, noise, asbestos fibres and chemicals
  • Develop reliable and detailed sampling plans
  • Conducting field task observations, reviewing sample data and inputting into company database
  • Providing accurate and reliable data for technical reports and proposals, contributing to SLR projects
  • Respirator and hearing protection fit testing
  • Travel to regional and remote sites as required to conduct fieldwork.
Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience within OHS/Hazmat, writing reports, analysing data
  • Capable to travel regularly and flexibility in working arrangements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, communicating to both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • A valid driver's licence (a C-class Manual Licence is advantageous)
  • Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia
Desirable
  • Exposure within the resource industry or working on a mine site
  • Exposure to Mine Air Quality training or Noise Dosimetry training
  • Relevant Qualifications such as in Occupational Hygiene, Chemistry, Science, Nursing/Medical or Environmental disciplines
