Job summary

SA Water in Berri leads a hydrographic surveying function within River Murray Operations. You will coordinate bathymetric and hydrographic surveys across river systems and critical infrastructure, while providing day-to-day leadership to a small team and delivering data insights for asset management and operations.

The role blends field work with data analysis, stakeholder engagement and safe, reliable operations. Flexibility in hours and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experienced hydrographic surveying professional combining field work with data analysis and problem solving.
• Skilled in providing day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to a small hydrographic services team.
• Ability to work autonomously, build relationships with diverse stakeholders and deliver quality asset management data.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate hydrographic survey activities and lead the Hydrographic Assistant.
• Undertake bathymetric and hydrographic surveys across river systems and infrastructure.
• Manage collection, processing, analysis and reporting of hydrographic data.
• Interpret survey results to support asset management and maintenance planning.
• Maintain survey equipment, vessels and related technology for safe operations.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients.
• Identify improvements through new technologies and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
