Job summary

Motion Asia Pacific is seeking a skilled hydraulics technician to diagnose, repair and service hydraulic systems across mining, manufacturing and construction sectors in New South Wales. The role covers workshop and customer-site work with regular NSW travel and occasional interstate trips.

You will diagnose faults with test equipment, identify components to repair or replace, install and commission circuits, and collaborate with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Fitter and Machinist or Diesel Fitter experience is essential.
• Hydraulics certification will be highly regarded.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout NSW and occasionally interstate, including extended periods away from home.
• A current valid driver’s licence – essential.
• Able to understand and fault-find hydraulic circuits and components, including cylinders, pumps, valves, and motors.
• Competent to read and interpret engineering & hydraulic circuit drawings.
• Excellent interaction and communication skills.
• A customer-focused attitude with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised and follow direction.
• Computer literacy at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose hydraulic faults using test equipment and your hydraulic system knowledge.
• Identify and quote hydraulic components that require repair or replacement.
• Work with hydraulic components and systems – breakdown, repair, and overhaul.
• Install and commission hydraulic circuits on new and established equipment.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to complete work in both workshop and site environments.

About The Role

We are looking for a skilled technician with good fluid power experience, a proven ability to be able to work unsupervised and with high-level customer-service focus.

This role includes work in both workshop and customer site environments. Regular travel throughout New South Wales is required, with occasional interstate travel.
