Job summary

Harrybilt Engineering in Ballarat is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Fitter for a hands-on, full-time role across hydraulic systems and specialised equipment builds. You will work on diverse projects and contribute to the design, assembly and commissioning of customised machinery in a modern workshop.

You will collaborate with a skilled team to read hydraulic drawings, perform maintenance and ensure high safety and workmanship standards on road rail trucks, excavators, trailers and rail

Qualifications

• Hydraulic system installation and fault finding experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Pride in delivering quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with heavy vehicles or mobile machinery is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install and commission hydraulic systems.
• Fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems.
• Perform mechanical fitting and vehicle modification work.
• Read and interpret hydraulic and engineering drawings.
• Maintain high safety, quality and workmanship standards.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver customised equipment builds.

Are you an experienced Hydraulic Fitter looking for a challenging and rewarding role? Do you take pride in quality workmanship and enjoy working on unique projects? Harrybilt Engineering are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Fitter to join our growing team in Ballarat.

At Harrybilt Engineering, quality, efficiency and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do. We design and build specialised equipment including Road Rail Trucks, Excavators, Trailers and Rail Maintenance Attachments, with every build offering something different.

About the Role

This is a hands on, full time position working across hydraulic systems, vehicle modifications and specialised equipment builds. You'll be involved in a wide variety of projects, providing opportunities to further develop your technical skills and work on unique machinery and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Hydraulic system assembly, installation and commissioning


• Fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems


• Mechanical fitting and vehicle modification work


• Reading and interpreting hydraulic and engineering drawings


• Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and workmanship


• Collaborating with a skilled team to deliver customised equipment builds

About You

• Strong hydraulic experience, including installation and troubleshooting


• Sound mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills


• Pride in delivering quality workmanship


• The ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Experience with heavy vehicles, mobile plant or specialised machinery (highly regarded)


• Trade qualification is advantageous
