Job summary

Marsh in Sydney is seeking a Workers Compensation Placement Broker to join its team on a hybrid basis, with at least three days per week in the office. The role supports senior brokers and large employers across Australia, developing tailored placement strategies and negotiating with insurers.

You will analyse client risk exposures, prepare underwriting submissions and renewal proposals, and use data and analytics to inform market decisions.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel skills and Power BI for modelling, analysis, reconciliation and reporting.
• Knowledge of Australian workers’ compensation legislation and premium determination methods.

Responsibilities

• Analyse client risk exposures and workers’ compensation portfolios to recommend cost-effective placement and risk transfer strategies.
• Prepare underwriting submissions, renewal proposals, quotations and placement documentation with risk profiles and financial implications.
• Support senior brokers with policies for large employers across jurisdictions, including multi-state placements and bespoke arrangements.
• Monitor market conditions and pricing trends to translate insights into practical placement advice.
• Use data and analytics to support market management, reporting and placement decisions.
• Respond to client queries and escalate complex matters when required.
• Assist with product development, market positioning and contractual reviews.
