Job summary

BAI Communications is seeking a Building Services Engineer to manage and deliver building services infrastructure projects across our national network. You will provide specialist HVAC, fire services and building systems expertise within the Power & Buildings team, collaborating with project managers and field teams to ensure safe, compliant operations.

You will design and specify building services for critical facilities, support commissioning from concept to handover, and contribute to asset

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Building Services or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience delivering building services projects in mission-critical environments such as data centres or utilities.
• Knowledge of NCC and Australian Standards for HVAC and fire services.
• Hands-on with HVAC design, upgrades, commissioning and performance optimisation.
• Experience with fire detection and building systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience supporting site commissioning and acceptance activities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and relevant modelling tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify and review HVAC, fire services and building services infrastructure for critical facilities.
• Provide engineering support from concept through commissioning and handover.
• Deliver HVAC upgrades, retrofits and capacity planning to meet operational needs.
• Lead commissioning, testing and acceptance activities to BAI standards.
• Ensure fire detection and alarm systems meet statutory and Australian Standards requirements.
• Contribute to maintenance, asset lifecycle and infrastructure improvement programs.
• Provide technical guidance to field services during fault response and remediation.
• Assess and manage technical risks across the network.
