Richard Lloyd Recruitment in Sydney CBD NSW is seeking an Assistant Accountant for a 4–6 month contract. The role offers hybrid flexibility with the option for part-time school hours (4–5 hours/day, five days/week) or a full-time arrangement.

Potential for home-based work after settling in and possible permanency for the right candidate. Responsibilities include managing time-based billings, trust account processing, AP support, and assisting with cash reporting and reconciliations using Xero.

Qualifications

• Immediately available to start work.
• Professional services experience ideally from a legal environment.
• Experience with time-based billings, Accounts Payable, reconciliations or trust accounting will be highly regarded.
• Open to either the part-time school-hours arrangement or the full-time option.
• For the full-time option, broader experience with payroll, journals or month-end support is advantageous.
• A professional presentation, clear communication style and ability to work efficiently with the Finance Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage time-based billings by following up timesheets and finalising invoices.
• Process trust account receipts, payments and related disbursements accurately.
• Support Accounts Payable, including supplier reconciliations, payments and payment runs.
• Assist with cash reporting, bank reconciliations and a small amount of credit control and collections.
• Liaise with colleagues across the business to collate information and maintain accurate finance records in Xero.
