Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the CFO with day-to-day financial management in a small Sydney-based team. The role is part-time, office-based, Tue and Thu with potential to extend to 3 days including Friday, and occasional extra days during peak periods.

You will handle AP/AR, payroll, month-end close, reconciliations, cash flow, BAS/IAS, and liaise with external accountants while maintaining high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
• Strong Xero knowledge and payroll compliance awareness.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365.
• Experience managing multiple entities.
• Understanding of payroll legislation and tax rules.
• Independent, proactive, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Manage and process payroll
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes
• Prepare account reconciliations and financial reports
• Monitor and manage weekly cash flow
• Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS and Payroll Tax returns
• Ensure compliance with relevant taxation and payroll legislation
• Liaise with external accountants
• Provide general office administration and operational support
• Undertake other accounting duties as required
