Job summary

Fitch Ratings in Sydney is seeking a Credit Analyst to join the Australia/New Zealand Structured Finance and Covered Bonds team, based out of our Sydney office. You will rating new transactions, perform data analysis in Excel, develop analytical documentation, and present findings in committee meetings.

The role offers exposure to multiple asset classes and interaction with issuers and investors. Ideal candidates have 18 months to 3–5 years of structured finance experience, strong Excel skills,

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in finance-related discipline; Science/Engineering backgrounds considered.
• For Analyst level: minimum of 18 months experience at a financial institution in mortgage or asset finance (credit/analytical role).
• For Senior Analyst and Associate Director: 3–5 years structured finance experience at issuer/arranger/trustee; Excel for calculations and documenting proposals.

Responsibilities

• Rating new transactions, including new asset classes and issuers.
• Ensure all structured finance transactions/programmes are reviewed on a 12-month cycle and at least once a year by due date.
• Perform data analysis in Excel.
• Execute Fitch-generated models.
• Prepare high-quality analytical documentation and present findings in committee meetings.
• Provide timely commentary on market and transaction performance.
• Manage queries from issuers/bankers/investors and communicate with external parties.
• Participate in originator/servicer review meetings.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and reporting.
