Job summary

Revenue NSW, part of the NSW Department of Customer Service, is seeking Principal Developer roles to lead frontend and backend initiatives across modern digital transformation programs. The roles emphasize building scalable microservices and cloud-based solutions with strong full-stack capabilities.

Positions offer hybrid work across NSW offices, with salary range up to $173,174pa + super and location flexibility. Applicants will join a high-impact team delivering improved NSW customer services.

Qualifications

• Extensive Python experience and backend development with microservices and REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud-native development practices.
• Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Frontend skills in React and modern JS/TS stack with REST API integration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Agile delivery, and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction and architecture for the development team.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and improve product capabilities.
• Make design decisions aligned with project goals and architectural standards.
• Code development, reviews, and quality assurance across frontend/backend tasks.
• Coach and mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
