Job summary

Kent is recruiting a Safety & Assurance Advisor to join our Projects team based in Perth, Western Australia. The role provides technical advice, governance and support for health, safety, emergency and risk management across offshore activities.

We seek candidates with 10+ years in offshore HSE, strong regulatory knowledge, and a track record in Safety Case development. Offshore survival certificates and Baseline Australian Security Clearance are preferred or willing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of combined operational and HSE experience within the offshore oil and gas industry, preferably with an oil and gas operator.
• Demonstrable experience of Australian offshore health and safety regulatory requirements and major hazard risk management.
• Proven track record in the development and management of Safety Cases for offshore facilities.
• Hold or willing to hold offshore survival certificates (e.g, BOSIET, MSIC, Offshore Medical).
• Hold or willing to hold Baseline Australian Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• The provision of technical advice, recommendations and support for our client in health, safety, injury management, emergency and crisis management and risk management.
• Governance oversight on the approval, implementation and compliance of contractor safety cases across project planning and execution phases.
• Coordination of safety-related regulatory documents to be held by the client.
• Development and management of the Project's HSE assurance schedule including verification of contractor’s safety case compliance.
• Oversight of contractor HSE start up readiness and day-to-day HSE performance during field activities.
• Input to risk registers and risk processes including ALARP considerations.
• Reviewing and/or conducting HSE incident investigations and communicating key findings.
• Ensuring emergency and crisis response arrangements are in place per regulatory obligations.
• Regular reporting and trend analysis of HSE performance and opportunities for improvement.
• Input to project schedule, cost reports and contract variations.
