Job summary

SBS, Australia’s national public broadcaster, is seeking an experienced Editor/Producer for a full-time, 6-month contract. You will edit half-hour documentary-style episodes, scriptwrite, translate, and oversee post-production to deliver audience-focused international current affairs across platforms.

The role is based at our Sydney HQ (Artarmon) with hybrid working arrangements. We welcome diverse applicants and will provide wellbeing resources as part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Experience editing long-form current affairs, factual TV, or documentary with broadcast credits.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and the wider Adobe Creative Cloud.
• High level of technical proficiency across Mac and PC computer systems.
• Editorial skills with experience writing scripts for current affairs or factual TV.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Edit half-hour documentary style episodes for broadcasts.
• Work closely with reporters and producers to deliver audience-focused international current affairs.
• Oversee post-production from media management to translations, scripting and editing.
• Manage program delivery and archiving; explore creative visual storytelling.
