Job summary

Latitude IT is hiring Senior Software Engineers to join a high-performing team building a federated GraphQL platform at scale. The role focuses on a Backend-for-Frontend and API aggregation layer, connecting web and mobile apps to backend services.

You’ll design and operate GraphQL services with Node.js and TypeScript, own schema and resolvers, and contribute to reliability, performance and developer experience across AWS deployments. Hybrid working model in Sydney or Melbourne is offered.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Deep production GraphQL experience, building and operating APIs.
• Experience with Apollo Server and Apollo Studio, GraphQL schema design and resolvers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production GraphQL services.
• Design scalable backend solutions in Node.js/TypeScript.
• Own GraphQL concerns including schema, resolvers, caching and observability.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues in distributed systems.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability and developer experience.
• Contribute to federation and team-owned subgraphs.
• Deploy, operate and troubleshoot production services in AWS.
