Job summary

Melbourne Racing Club is seeking a Data and AI Platform Analyst to own our data and reporting infrastructure, spanning Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and databases. You will ensure secure, governed data behind key platforms and help build foundations for AI and advanced analytics.

Reporting to the Head of Platforms, you will collaborate with the Azure and Power Platform Engineer and stakeholders to manage data from platforms like Upbeat, Business Central, TASK POS, Ticketek, and other systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' hands-on database administration experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI administration, including governance and security.
• SQL Server or similar databases with performance tuning, backups and recovery.
• Experience across data governance, quality and compliance, including access management and audit requirements.
• Microsoft certifications such as DP-600, DP-300, PL-300 or equivalent are highly regarded.
• Experience in raceday or event-driven environments would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft Fabric workspaces, capacity and data pipelines.
• Manage Power BI administration, governance, workspaces, licensing, security and report performance.
• Administer databases, including access control, backups, recovery, performance and compliance.
• Design and maintain data models, database schemas and reporting structures.
• Monitor data pipelines and platform performance, addressing issues before impact.
• Support disaster recovery, environment management, upgrades and continual improvement across the data environment.
