Job summary

Georges River Council in Sydney is seeking a Compliance Auditor (Permanent, Full-time) based in Hurstville. The role supports regulatory and compliance functions, ensuring development approvals, certification and legislative obligations are met, including enforcement of fees and contributions.

You will conduct field inspections and collaborate with certifiers, owners and agencies. Hybrid work, 70 hours per fortnight, 12% superannuation, and ongoing education are offered.

Qualifications

• Investigation, building certification and planning experience.
• Knowledge of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and Regulations, especially breaches and contributions.
• Experience delivering process improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop innovative, practical solutions to complex issues.
• Class C Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Support regulatory and compliance functions for development approvals and certifications.
• Monitor payment of development-related fees and local infrastructure contributions.
• Undertake site inspections and investigate potential breaches of development consents/certificates.
• Maintain statutory registers and prepare regulatory notices and evidence for proceedings.
• Collaborate with internal teams, certifiers, property owners and agencies to ensure compliance.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development and improve compliance systems and processes.
