Job summary

The NRMA is offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join the Financial Control team in Sydney. The role focuses on month‑end close, reconciliations, and supporting the corporate reporting process, with a pathway to a Financial Accountant role.

You will assist with month‑end journals, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations while working across offices, with flexible from‑home options and attendance at Sydney offices as required.

Qualifications

• Tertiary level qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Completed or studying CA/CPA.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred (1–2 years).

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing month end journals and accruals per NRMA guidelines.
• Calculate prepayments and provision balances for assets and liabilities.
• Prepare payroll tax allocations and telecom charge journals.
• Collaborate with Shared Services and Commercial teams to finalise month end accounts.
• Produce balance sheet reconciliations and ageing of reconciling items.
• Assist with policy drafting and regulatory reporting for statutory accounts.
• Support audits with necessary information and documentation.
• Maintain records and support investigations into variances.
