Job summary

Bendigo Bank is seeking a senior Financial Crime Risk Specialist to lead the design and evolution of our AML/CTF policies and frameworks. You will interpret legislative requirements and AUSTRAC guidance, translating risk into practical standards for business lines and partners.

In this role you will oversee 2LoA governance, collaborate across 1LoA/2LoA/3LoA, support product initiatives, and promote a resilient banking operation with a strong emphasis on compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Extensive financial crime experience in banking or financial services.
• Proven ability to design, draft, implement AML/CTF programs and standards.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CTF Act, AUSTRAC guidelines, and FATF standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, maintenance, and evolution of AML/CTF programs and governance documentation.
• Translate regulatory requirements into actionable standards for business lines and third parties.
• Convert AML/CTF risk appetites into policies embedded in product development and digital initiatives.
• Provide 2LoA oversight and technical advisory on new products and risk system enhancements.
• Collaborate across 1LoA, 2LoA, and 3LoA to ensure effective standards and independent challenge.
