Job summary

AMS is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the Melbourne team. You will support finance, payroll, invoicing, and business operations, reporting to the CFO in a hands-on role across key financial processes.

Responsibilities include payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and financial reporting. The role requires a relevant degree and experience in similar environments, with knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and tools like Xero and Employment Hero.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Experience in a similar accounting and payroll position.
• Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation, payroll tax, GST, and employment obligations.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable: invoices, reconciliations, expenses, EFT payments.
• Coordinate end-to-end payroll incl. superannuation, payroll tax, leave, compliance.
• Handle invoicing, billing calculations, client fee structures.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Assist with month-end/year-end reporting and reconciliations.
• Support trust accounting and financial audits as required.
• Respond to finance-related queries from stakeholders.
• Assist CFO with ad hoc finance projects.
