Job summary

Core Talent is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading Melbourne-based contractor delivering complex HVAC and mechanical projects across data centres, universities and high-rise developments.

You will design, coordinate and deliver large-scale mechanical packages from concept to handover, with duties including load calculations, equipment selection and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of HVAC and mechanical building services experience.
• Experience with mechanical contractor, engineering consultancy or large construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC design, fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.
• Experience undertaking engineering calculations and selecting plant/equipment.
• Exposure to design and construct projects and lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking detailed engineering calculations for loads, duct sizing and equipment selection.
• Delivering mechanical solutions across large-scale HVAC design and construct projects.
• Reviewing consultant designs and technical documentation for optimisation opportunities.
• Preparing engineering documentation and coordinating drawings with drafting teams.
• Reviewing workshop drawings, equipment submissions and technical specs.
• Selecting plant/equipment including chillers, AHUs, pumps and cooling towers.
• Supporting data centres and mission-critical infrastructure design and delivery.
