Job summary

BGIS Global Integrated Solutions Canada – Cranbourne VIC is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the Projects team in Cranbourne, Victoria. The role focuses on accurate estimating, tender preparation, and supplier engagement for commercial and industrial HVAC projects.

You will review documentation, perform quantity take-offs, and coordinate pricing while collaborating with Project Managers and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely submissions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for HVAC and mechanical projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and develop detailed cost plans.
• Source and obtain supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Negotiate supplier costs and identify value opportunities.
• Develop and maintain supplier and subcontractor relationships.
• Prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation.
• Prepare scopes of work and project schedules.
• Support BAFO processes where required.
• Assist Project Managers with procurement and cost planning activities.
• Maintain and continuously improve estimating databases.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve tender accuracy and outcomes.
• Support pricing initiatives and supplier engagement.

The Role

ASM Chilltech is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing Projects team in Cranbourne, Victoria. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with HVAC and mechanical services experience to play a key role in supporting project growth through accurate estimating, tender preparation, and supplier engagement.

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing project documentation, preparing detailed cost estimates, coordinating supplier pricing, and supporting tender submissions for commercial and industrial HVAC projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure competitive pricing, accurate forecasting, and successful project outcomes. This role exists to provide dedicated estimating capability that supports project growth and improves pricing accuracy.

What You Will Be Doing

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for HVAC and mechanical services projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

• Support Best and Final Offer (BAFO) processes where required
• Assist Project Managers with procurement and cost planning activities
• Maintain and continuously improve estimating and pricing databases
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve tender accuracy and project outcomes
• Support initiatives to improve pricing accuracy, supplier engagement, and tender capacity within the business.

Your Education, Experience and Skills

• Previous experience in HVAC, mechanical services, or building services estimating
• Strong understanding of commercial and industrial mechanical systems
• Experience preparing tenders, cost plans, and project estimates
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and project specifications
• Strong Excel and cost analysis capabilities
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors within the construction or building services sector
• Relevant trade, technical, engineering, or construction-related qualifications highly regarded.
