Job summary

Ausconnex is seeking an experienced Substation Technician to support planning, maintenance, commissioning and operational support of high voltage substations across transmission and distribution networks in NSW. This hands‑on role combines field work with collaboration across engineering, asset management and project delivery teams.

You will plan maintenance, support outages, use SCADA/HMI for remote switching and prepare technical reports and documentation.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification with HV substation experience.
• Experience on 11kV–330kV substations.
• Ability to plan and execute inspections and fault-finding.
• Knowledge of industry standards and OEM documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute maintenance in high voltage substations.
• Support maintenance programs and outages.
• Develop outage scopes and work schedules with asset teams.
• Utilise SCADA/HMI for remote switching and fault diagnosis.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for maintenance and projects.
• Provide guidance on constructability and compliance.
